Terms of use
1. Provider and contract
Slasht is provided by:
Christian Grandek, Im Vechtel 46, 33428 Harsewinkel, Germany
Contact: slasht.support@gmail.com. Further details are in the legal notice.
These terms govern Slasht’s free account service. The app can also be used without an account. By creating an account, you enter into a free-of-charge contract of use with the provider on these terms. Before you create an account, the app refers you to these terms and the privacy notice; by creating the account, you accept these terms. You can view them at any time in the app under Settings → “Legal”; on slasht.app you can save them using your browser.
The service is intended for people aged 16 or over. If you are under 18, you need the consent of your parents or legal guardians to create an account. The service is free of charge; there is no subscription and no automatic conversion to a paid service.
2. Service scope
Slasht lets you save, organise and rediscover links. Without an account, the links are kept only on your device. An account enables sync between devices and public shares.
The following limits apply:
- without an account, up to 15 links, not counting the example cards; further links wait until an account is created or space becomes free;
- with an account, up to 10,000 links and 500 collections, plus up to 200 of your own photos totalling no more than 100 MB (no more than 6 MB per photo);
- limits on the number of write operations, photos and shares within a short time. If you reach such a limit, you must wait before performing further operations.
Previews are based on information from external websites and may be outdated or incomplete. Only the current information on the destination page is authoritative for prices and offers. Slasht is not a contracting party when goods or services offered there are purchased.
3. Availability and development
Slasht is provided free of charge and without any committed availability. Maintenance, disruptions at service providers or security measures may temporarily restrict the service. Data already stored on your device can generally also be used offline; external images, new link information and sync require a connection.
The provider may develop Slasht further and change features, provided that the core of the service – saving, organising and rediscovering links – is retained and the change is reasonable for you. The app informs you about significant changes. Statutory rights, particularly concerning defects in and changes to digital products, remain unaffected to the extent that they apply to the contract.
4. Account and use
You may only use email addresses and sign-in services for an account that belong to you or that you are authorised to use. Keep your credentials secret and inform the provider if you suspect unauthorised access.
Unlawful content, infringements of personality rights or copyright, threats, targeted harassment, incitement to violence or hatred, malware, phishing and attacks on accounts or the service, including through automated mass requests, are prohibited. Public shares must also not contain sexually explicit content or graphic depictions of violence.
Before every publication and on every access, Slasht automatically compares a share with a list of websites and terms that breach these rules. If a share contains such a link, it is not published and the app states the reason. If such a link is added to a shared collection after publication, it is not shown in the share. Your links themselves remain saved and unchanged. Recipients can hide all shares from a sender on their device.
How personal data is processed is described in the privacy notice.
5. Content rights and shares
The rights in your content remain with you. You grant the provider only the simple (non-exclusive) rights of use required for storage, technical processing, sync and shares initiated by you, limited to that purpose and its duration. Service providers may carry out the steps required for this. The provider does not sell your content and does not use it for advertising. The right to make a share publicly available ends as soon as you stop it.
You must hold the necessary rights in content that you upload or share. Saving an external address does not transfer any rights in images or text on the destination page.
Anyone with a share link can access the preview and forward the link. For shared collections, links added later also become visible after sync. Take care not to publish confidential information through titles, descriptions or addresses. Copies held by recipients cannot be recalled.
6. Reports and measures
The single point of contact for authorities, the European Commission and users under Articles 11 and 12 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act) is slasht.support@gmail.com, in German or English.
Unlawful content or breaches of these terms can be reported via “Report content” on every share or by email to this address. Give the exact address of the share and the content concerned, explain the suspected unlawfulness or breach, and provide your name and email address. Confirm that the information is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. For reports concerning the child sexual abuse offences specified in Art. 16(2)(c) DSA, a name and email address are not required. Please do not send copies of such material.
The provider reviews reports promptly, diligently, objectively and without automated decision-making. If an electronic contact address is available, the provider acknowledges receipt and communicates the decision.
If there is a breach, the provider may take proportionate measures: stop the share concerned, ask you to remedy the breach or, in the case of serious or repeated breaches, end all your shares and block new shares or suspend the account. Blocking shares does not affect your saved links. Where possible and reasonable, you will first be given an opportunity to comment; in the case of urgent risks or legal obligations, action may be taken immediately. You will be informed of any measure by email, with an understandable explanation stating its type and scope, the relevant facts and the statutory provision or rule of these terms concerned. The reporting person is also informed if a contact address is available. Both may object free of charge by email; the decision will then be reviewed again. Recourse to the courts remains open.
7. Term, termination and deletion
The contract of use runs for an indefinite period. You may end it at any time free of charge by deleting your account in the app or as described on the account deletion page.
The provider may terminate the contract with two months’ notice, for example if it discontinues Slasht; notice is given by email or by a message in the app. Until the end of the notice period, you may request a copy of your data. Both parties’ right to terminate for good cause remains unaffected, in particular in the case of serious breaches of section 4.
Signing out or uninstalling does not delete a cloud account.
8. Liability
The provider is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act.
In the case of slight negligence, the provider is liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation, meaning an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose fulfilment you may regularly rely. Liability is then limited to the typical damage foreseeable when the contract was concluded. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded.
Mandatory statutory liability and compensation claims, particularly under Art. 82 GDPR, and claims under an expressly assumed guarantee are not limited by these provisions.
These limitations also apply to the personal liability of persons whom the provider engages.
9. Changes to these terms
Changes will be shown to you in the app before they take effect and apply only once you accept them there. Silence or mere continued use does not constitute acceptance. If you do not accept, the previous terms continue to apply; the provider may then terminate the contract in accordance with section 7.
10. Final provisions
German law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protection provisions of the country of your habitual residence remain applicable to the extent required by the applicable rules of private international law.
The provider is neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
These terms are available in German and English.
